About the Program
The Baylor College of Medicine Center of Excellence in Health Equity, Training and Research is committed to developing and supporting pre-medical students from populations that have been traditionally under-represented in the physician workforce.
The COE Transformed Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Scholars is designed to enhance the training of select students enrolled in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Post-Baccalaureate Certificate of Completion in Biomedical Sciences and Health Equity. The goal is for selected scholars to successfully matriculate into a M.D. or D.O. program at an accredited U.S. medical school. Alumni will also continue to have access to resources, information, events, and other relevant programs offered by the center.
The COE Transformed Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Scholars Program is not accepting applications at this time.
Program Components
In addition to required enrollment in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Post-Baccalaureate Certificate of Completion in Biomedical Sciences and Health Equity, the program for COE TPP scholars will include:
- Additional co-curricular activities such as networking and mentoring events specifically for post-baccalaureate pre-medical students from underrepresented minority populations;
- Opportunities to participate in additional research project led by a COE junior faculty or clinical fellow scholar; and
- Financial support that includes a one-time $1,500 stipend
