National Center for Macromolecular Imaging
The NCMI emphasis is on specimens that cannot currently be studied by conventional structural techniques such as X-ray crystallography. The outcome is a three-dimensional image of the complex that can be used for the design of drugs and vaccines for a variety of diseases.

Cell-Based Assay Screening Service
The C-BASS core makes available to the Baylor community the human and mouse shRNA library collections, through the Open Access Program from Open Biosystems. C-BASS can provide individual shRNA Plasmids for use in any Baylor laboratory, or carry out an entire screening experiment using the libraries. C-BASS personnel is available to facilitate the use of these reagents and perform RNAi screens with a level of involvement that is appropriate for the specific experiment. Downstream analyses of the RNAi screen can include, in-house, high-throughput image analysis and flow cytometry. Also, DNA oligo chip hybridization for the identification of the barcoded shRNA plasmids can be carried out at the BCM Microarray Core Facility.

W.M. Keck Center for Interdisciplinary Bioscience Training
The Gulf Coast Consortia brings together the strengths of its six member institutions to build interdisciplinary collaborative research teams and training programs in the biological sciences at their intersection with the computational, chemical, mathematical, and physical sciences.

Advanced Technology Cores
We have 26 core labs at our disposal at Baylor College of Medicine. The ATC Cores provides a range of research support services such as access to shared instrumentation, analysis of research samples and experiments with core personnel performing specialized portions of the project. In addition to technical procedures, cores provide consultation on experimental design, data analysis, and training.
