Advanced Standing for PA Program

Master
Content

The curriculum of the BCM PA Program is delivered in a sequential manner with each subsequent semester building upon the coursework completed in the previous one. As a result, the Program does not routinely consider applicants for advanced standing. If you have a question regarding advanced standing, email paprogram@bcm.edu.

Petition for Course Acceptance

Content

Already enrolled students may petition for placement out of a course in the curriculum of the PA Program if the course was completed as part of another graduate program leading to a master's or doctoral degree. The written request must be received 30 days prior to the beginning of the term in which the course appears and accompanied by a letter from the Baylor course director indicating agreement that the course in question is equivalent to the Baylor offered course.

The completed request with accompanying documents, if approved by the Program Director, is then forwarded to the Registrar for action. The BCM course director must in turn assign and file a grade for the course with the Registrar for entry on the transcript. Advanced standing through placement out of a course will not be considered if the course work being proposed is more than five years old.
