Professional Statement
I am a native Houstonian and have enjoyed spending most of my life here. Growing up through high school, I was inspired by my teachers and peers to participate in our state math and science competitions (TMSCA, UIL, and Mathcounts). This turned out to be a crucial period of development in my life, and I credit most of where I am today to these early extracurricular activities. In college, I studied mechanical engineering with a special interest in prototyping techniques such as 3D printing and CNC machining. I helped design and manufacture several projects for my school's Formula SAE chapter, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, and ReNeu robotics lab (https://reneu.robotics.utexas.edu/). I was also a machine shop instructor and an avid enthusiast of the "maker movement".
In medical school, I had a broad range of interests but eventually settled on the best specialty - radiology! It's truly a diverse field with a lot of opportunity for technological advancement. It is really amazing how quickly it has all progressed. I am excited to see what the future holds!
