Professional Statement
For the entirety of my professional career, I have worked in service of higher-education evaluation, assessment, and education research. In my current role, I work collaboratively with colleagues to review and improve the quality of ongoing performance assessments, and develop and implement new assessment processes to meet the emergent needs of an evolving medical education curriculum. My team and I also administer over 200 course and teaching evaluation surveys annually, yielding program evaluation reports for hundreds of pre-clinical and clinical courses and electives, and more than 2,000 pre-clinical and clinical instructors. As a health-professions education researcher, I share authorship of over 35 peer-reviewed medical education publications, and more than 80 peer-reviewed professional conference presentations on medical education topics. Much of my research utilizes medical education program evaluation and performance assessment data. My key areas of scholarly interest include evaluation of curricular innovations, examination of student study strategies and their impact on performance outcomes, learning environment factors including student mistreatment, and inter-professional education.Selected Publications
