BCM COVID-19 Guidance

Based on community prevalence of COVID-19 in our area, CDC guidance, and as we continue moving toward treating the COVID-19 virus as endemic in our community, Baylor College of Medicine guidelines are focused on personal responsibility.  Masks are not required for most employees, learners and visitors. People who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or are recovering from Covid, should wear masks.  If you are at high risk for severe disease, or are a care-giver for someone who is at high risk for severe disease, speak with your physician about additional precautions.

If you work in a Baylor affiliate, continue to follow their guidance and infection control policies when located in their building.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information and Policy

Baylor College of Medicine has a Vaccine Preventable Diseases Policy requiring its faculty and staff to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, with exceptions for medical contraindications and sincerely held religious beliefs. BCM Employees are required to be up-to-date with vaccines, including Booster Vaccines. A list of frequently asked questions is available. (BCM login required)

Vaccines are readily available throughout the community.

COVID-19 Vaccine Attestation: In order to be recognized as fully vaccinated or exempt, all employees/learners, regardless of where you received the vaccine, are required to complete the vaccine attestation through the BCM COVID-19 Vaccine App. Employees/learners who do not complete the Attestation through the app will be considered unvaccinated.

For questions about the COVID-19 vaccine or policy, email vaccinecompliance@bcm.edu.

COVID-19 Travel Guidance

Baylor will consider travel for those compliant with the Vaccine Preventable Diseases Policy, including those with an approved exemption, with approval from Department/Unit Leadership. More information and guidance can be found on the Travel and Expense page on the intranet. (BCM login required)

Gathering and Meeting Guidance

BCM does not have additional guidance for gatherings and meetings at this time, and individuals should exercise judgment about participation based on their personal assessment of risk for severe disease.

General information about events at BCM can be found in the Event Planning: Special Events Policy (BCM login required)
