The ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine is a combined training program with Burkhart Research Institute for Orthopaedics (BRIO), where fellows will train in the Texas Medical Center at the sponsoring institution (Baylor College of Medicine) in Houston, Texas and at The San Antonio Orthopedic Group in San Antonio, Texas. Fellows will complete training in diagnosis and treatment of a variety of sports injuries and disorders, open surgical procedures, and operative arthroscopy.

Training occurs in the Baylor College of Medicine Medical Center on the McNair Campus, The San Antonio Orthopedic Group, the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and the Burkhart Research Institute for Orthopaedics (BRIO). A publishable quality research project is required for program completion, and participation in a laboratory project is strongly encouraged.
