The Global Health Interest Group at Baylor College of Medicine is a student-run organization dedicated to educating the Baylor community about global health through journal club events, documentaries, guest lectures, book discussions, cultural events, and community involvement.
We seek to provide medical students with opportunities to contribute meaningfully and sustainably to the lives of refugees and other immigrants in the Houston area as well as communities abroad by addressing barriers in access to healthcare and health literacy.

Partnership Events
The Global Health Interest Group held events with the Partnership for the Advancement and Immersion of Refugees (PAIR) and Las Americas Newcomer School to host several events with children who are refugees over the past few years. These events have had emphasis on nutrition education and healthy cooking, awareness of careers in healthcare, and understanding basic safety and health. The events also serve to facilitate partnerships between Baylor students and the global community that is so prevalent here in Houston.
