Committees of Medical School leadership, faculty, staff and students have been formed to conduct the self-study process.

Executive Steering Committee

Baylor College of Medicine’s LCME Self-study Executive Steering Committee will provide strategic direction, monitor progress, and ensure collaboration within the institution for the LCME Self-Study review process, from arranging the Self Study in 2019-2021 through the LCME site visit in AY 2021-2022. The committee will make operational and policy decisions, when necessary, for the preparation of the LCME site visit.

Self-Study Task Force

Baylor College of Medicine’s LCME Self-study Task Force will oversee the self-study to ensure the process is inclusive, thoughtful, transparent, and achieves the goal of fostering institutional and program growth. The Self-study Task Force has ultimate responsibility for designing the self-study process, determining the objective of the self-study process, and setting the timetable for the completion of related activities. The Self-study Task Force will synthesize individual subcommittee reports after subcommittees have competed their work. Of great importance, the group is tasked with recommending changes to assure the SOM meets all LCME standards. The Taskforce will review all subcommittee documents and oversee the writing of the Institution Self-Study Summary Report and the Executive Summary, which will then be submitted to the LCME in 2021.

Subcommittees

The Self-Study Subcommittees are responsible for preparing reports on specific areas about the medical education program based on review and analysis of the information provided during the data collection process. The reports prepared by the Self-Study Subcommittees include identified needs and recommendations.
