Bariatric Revision Surgery

Some patients may need additional surgery after their bariatric operation. These are patients who develop a problem from their surgery, such as severe acid reflux, difficulty tolerating food, a blockage of their intestines, or a return of some of the lost weight.

To treat these problems, so called “revisional” bariatric surgery may be necessary in selected cases. Because these revision operations carry a higher level of risk, the decision to go ahead with them is made with close consultation with the surgeon and his team.
