Professional Statement
Sports medicine is an exciting and challenging field because you are given the opportunity to work with and take care of active pediatric and adolescent patients all the while helping them to maximize their overall potential. Every athlete is different and due to their diverse sport background and interests, they have unique and specific demands. I believe in empowering patients to take charge of their medical care and collaborating with the athletes themselves as well as their families and their coaches to provide comprehensive and personalized treatment plans. When working with patients, I focus on treating acutely but also looking at the future goals of the athlete in mind. Through my training I have had the unique experience of taking care a wide array of athletes; ranging from pediatric patients, to division I collegiate athletes, to professional athletes. My specific clinical and research interest include the throwing athlete, concussions, and acute and overuse injuries.
