Dr. Louisa Chiu joined the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery in 2013 as assistant professor in the Division of General Surgery. She specializes in acute care surgery and surgical critical care. She completed her general surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She finished a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Chiu is board certified in both General Surgery and in Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery.
Her clinical Interests include benign biliary disease, abdominal emergencies, benign colon disease, critical care, and palliative care.
