- (09/01/2004)
- Conseil de l'Ordre des Medecins France
- I moved to Houston on February 7, 1994, to start my full-time research fellowship training at NASA-JSC and did not have the opportunity to practice medicine for my entire full-time research doctoral training (1994-96), full-time research post-doctoral training (1996-98) and full-time research faculty in residence (BCM, 1998-09/2003). I started to practice full-time as a professional (no longer as a resident and clinical fellow), associate professor in Clermont-Ferrand, University-Hospital Gabriel Montpied, France 09/2003).
- Sports Medicine
- Conseil de l'Ordre des Medecins France
- Currently not practicing Sports Medicine, albeit eligible to have my license in the EU
- Hyperbaric & Diving medicine
- Conseil de l'Ordre des Medecins France
- I did the clinical Fellowship (Nice Sophia Antipolis. CHU Hospital Pasteur -Nice, France). However, I never had the opportunity to practice this specialty, & never requested my license. One of my textbooks is about this medical specialty. Currently not practicing this specialty, albeit I am eligible to have my license in the EU.

Honors & Awards
- NASA Special Scientific Achievement Award
- Design of an operational procedure protecting the brain of astronauts: ISS Assembly and future Moon, Mars Mission. Foster contributed, as a co-investigator[8][2][10][11][12][13], with a NASA team (Head P.I. Michael L. Gernhardt), to establish a safer procedure for NASA extravehicular activities [EVAs][14], perform the space station assembly and shape [6][1] future missions (Moon, Mars). The procedure[15] protecting the brain of astronauts was tested in a NASA-directed multi-center trial[4] (1997-2003), the exercise prebreathe reduction protocol[16] (PRP) [15][13][12][11][10]. It was a considerable time-saver 48 hr.-prep → total 1:30 hr.-prep[15] in assembling the International Space Station. Highlighting the benefit of the PRP as a scientific advancement as well as an operational deliverable, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, Medicine in "Recapturing a Future for Space Exploration Life and Physical Sciences Research for a New Era"[17] reads: "Exercise during prebreathing greatly accelerates denitrogenation. Ground testing7 has shown that 10 min of exercise (75 percent of peak oxygen uptake) during a 1-h prebreathe is equivalent to a 4-h resting prebreathe."[18]
- NASA (09/1997 - 09/2001)
- Erdos number of 4 . [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erdos_number]
- I designed a novel physiological concept & created a system of mathematical equations (A.I.). For the successful NASA extravehicular activity protocols for the International Space Station assembly, I wrote the 4,805 lines of source code [A.I., Mathematica, C++]. Description of the program can be found in an article (Foster et al. A model for influence of exercise... Am. J. Physiol., 279:R2304-R2316, 2000b). Dr. Glowinski’s Erdős’ number is 3 (co-author).
