Pediatrics Academy of Resident Educators

The Academy of Resident Educators (AoRE) within the Pediatrics Residency Program at Baylor College of Medicine aims to foster the growth of residents as clinician-educators by encouraging direct instruction, educational leadership, and professional development.
The academy is a resident-driven program that hosts programs throughout the year including teaching skills workshops, lectures led by faculty medical educators and creating opportunities for hands-on teaching with medical students and residents. At the end of your residency, if you have shown extracurricular commitment to medical education, you have the opportunity to apply for the honor of Distinguished Resident Educator at graduation.
Goals of the AORE:

  • Improve the teaching abilities of residents
  • Expose residents to scholarship within medical education
  • Promote culture of teaching and education in residency
  • Provide opportunities for residents to develop as clinician-educators

  • Teaching and reviewing pediatric topics for medical students during their Pediatric clerkship rotation
