2023 Commencement Wrap-up
Baylor College of Medicine celebrated the graduating class of 2023, which included 172 graduates from the School of Medicine, 88 graduates from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and nine students from the Genetic Counseling Program in the School of Health Professions at Baylor College of Medicine.
We prepare our graduates to attain positions of leadership in education, research, and the community of science locally and globally. As a graduate school within a leading medical school, students receive rigorous scientific training in basic, translational and clinical sciences while maintaining a focus on how discoveries impact human health.
Our students learn from and work side-by-side with scientists who are leaders in their fields of study. Our vast, multi-disciplinary research enterprise fosters collaboration and interactions among faculty and trainees to bring diverse perspectives to bear on the most pressing questions in biomedical sciences leading to innovation and resulting in significant impact on human health.

New program focuses on clinical translational research skills
Kelsey Mauk, Ph.D. candidate ‘25, is among the first cohort of 19 students to complete Baylor College of Medicine’s Clinical Translational Research Certificate of Added Qualification (CTR-CAQ) program, which helps Baylor Ph.D. graduate students learn the important skills required of clinical translational researchers.
