About the Program

Content

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology offers a two-year Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship. Since its inception, our fellowship has provided comprehensive training in medical and surgical aspects of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

In addition to a full range of laparoscopic procedures, emphasis is placed on training fellows in office-based hysteroscopy, diagnostic hysteroscopy, hysteroscopic sterilization and endometrial ablation.

Our fellows train with practicing obstetrician/gynecologists as well as with surgeons in the Texas Medical Center who specialize in general surgery, gynecologic oncology, and urology and with fellows in other programs such as Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.

The fellow will be exposed to a full range of laparoscopic procedures. A special emphasis is placed on hysteroscopy including office-based hysteroscopy, diagnostic hysteroscopy and hysteroscopic sterilization. In addition, the fellow will have extensive access to robotic surgery at St. Luke’s Medical Center.

A variety of opportunities exist for research and innovative clinical investigation is encouraged.
