FDA VALIDATION OF A SALIVARY MIRNA DIAGNOSTIC TEST FOR AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER

The central aim of this project is to develop a prototype of an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnostic aid. This research will help us to prepare our prototype for an in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) application for use within its intended use population, children at risk for the development of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This prototype is designed as a diagnostic aid for use in the primary care and pediatric setting, providing pediatricians information to support the medical necessity and urgency of a referral for autism specific treatment services and/or a comprehensive evaluation. The primary goal of this work is to demonstrate that this prototype can accurately distinguish children with ASD from those without ASD but screen at-risk.

CHARACTERIZING THE NATURAL HISTORY OF FRAGILE X SYNDROME TO INFORM THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTERVENTION OUTCOME MEASURES

The FORWARD-MARCH project aims to collect detailed data on cognitive, adaptive, and behavioral function in order to better characterize the natural history of FXS and determine meaningful outcome measures that improve the lives of children and adolescents with FXS and their families. It is expected that what researchers learn from FORWARD-MARCH about the natural history of FXS will help caregivers to better provide well-timed appropriate interventions and services and will inform efforts to assist individuals with FXS in interacting with their environment and participating in everyday life activities. FORWARD-MARCH will also better define trajectories of development in individuals with FXS that will be useful in understanding the long-term effects of interventions relative to the natural history of FXS.

AN EXPLORATORY, RANDOMIZED, DOUBLE-BLIND, PLACEBO-CONTROLLED AND OPEN-LABEL EXTENSION STUDY OF THE SAFETY, TOLERABILITY, AND EFFICACY OF ARBACLOFEN IN SUBJECTS WITH 16P11.2 DELETION

This is a double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group and open-label study to assess the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of arbaclofen in pediatric subjects with 16p11.2 deletion and neurodevelopmental disabilities. The study consists of 2 parts, the double-blind (DB) treatment period (four study periods), and an open-label extension (OLE) treatment period (four study periods) of active treatment for patients who complete the DB portion of the trial.
