Professional Statement
Over the course of my time at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), I have held multiple positions in medical education including Residency Program Director, Vice Chair of Education, and Vice Chair of Global Health. These positions have afforded me the opportunity to work across the full spectrum of medical education both domestically and globally. As Residency Program Director, I ran the second largest postgraduate training program in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the country. In the global arena, I served as part of an international consortium focused on the development and implementation of the first OB/GYN postgraduate training program in Malawi. Most recently, I have focused on faculty development at both the Departmental and College levels. I am currently the Director of Educator Initiatives and Faculty Awards for BCM. In this role, I develop and teach programs and workshops in a variety of educational arenas as well as serving as the Director of the Academy of Distinguished Educators. In addition, I run peer-review committees focused on conferring awards to faculty for excellence in education. While patient care brought me to medicine and is a driving force in my day-to-day clinical activities, my passion lies in educating the next generation of healthcare providers and assisting academic faculty in their career progression.Websites
