This course will serve as an update on latest diagnostic and therapeutic issues in GI and Hepatology. This program has been developed using a combination of lecture and case based curriculum designed to serve as an intensive review tool for GI and Hepatology Board Certification/Re-Certification Examination in 2023.

Content

At the conclusion of the activity, participants should be able to:

  • Summarize the strategies for the management of IBS-D
  • Discuss early detection of esophageal cancer and effective screening methods for high-risk patients
  • Identify tailored approaches to optimizing medical therapy in inflammatory bowel disease
  • Compare and contrast current therapy options for patients with viral hepatitis and drugs in the clinical development pipeline
  • Develop the appropriate management strategies for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in clinical practice
  • Understand the appropriate use and indications for GI motility and reflux testing
  • Discuss early detection of esophageal cancer and effective screening methods for high-risk patients
  • Understand the basics of biliary tract anatomy and management of common biliary diseases
  • Interpret the results of Hepatitis B serologic testing in order to determine appropriate treatment
