The National School of Tropical Medicine provides an opportunity for learners to apply for a scholarship award on the basis of need and merit. The Scholarship Committee reviews all applications to determine the scholarship recipients and the amount of funds awarded. Applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision at least 30 days before classes begin.
The National School of Tropical Medicine provides scholarship funds to highly qualified learners. The types of scholarships currently available are listed below. Applicants must meet the stated criteria in order to be considered for scholarships. Please note that funds available for each year’s scholarship awards are limited and the number of awards is contingent upon funding.
Mutual of Omaha Bank Scholarships
Scholarships are available for learners whose family (for applicant being claimed as dependent) or individual income is low or moderate defined as less than $53,520 per year. Scholarships awarded are paid directly to Baylor College of Medicine to offset tuition and fees.
General Scholarships
The General Scholarships are available to learners who do not meet the criteria for the Scholarships for Harris County Residents but demonstrate (a) financial need defined as family (for applicant being claimed as dependent) or individual income of less than $63,000 per year and (b) a minimum GPA of 3.50 from a U.S. program in order to be considered for scholarships. Scholarships awards are paid directly to Baylor College of Medicine to offset tuition and fees.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a scholarship award , learners must have been accepted to an educational program at the National School of Tropical Medicine and submit the scholarship application by the deadlines.
