Quality Improvement

Master
Content

Housestaff are well-positioned to see opportunities for improvement; however, often they receive fragmented training in QI methodology and healthcare disparities, or are not included in the process. To optimize trainee experience in quality improvement, we will:

  • Develop a central repository of QI priorities, health disparities priorities, QI committees, performance metrics, and data sources available to faculty, trainees, and staff;
  • Ensure that CLEs provide faculty and trainees with routine and periodic performance metrics (individual, department, or facility level);
  • Require that residents and fellows participate in an approved interprofessional quality improvement initiative that can be linked to CLE priorities in QI and healthcare disparities.
