The Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) Genetic Counseling Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC). All graduates from the Genetic Counseling Program at BCM meet the academic requirements to take the American Board of Genetic Counselors (ABGC) national certification exam. Eligibility to sit for the ABGC certification exam is a requirement for all states that require licensure to practice in those states. As graduates prepare to work in a state with licensure, it is important for those graduates to become familiar with any and all requirements beyond the certification exam.
