How to Nominate a Faculty Member
To nominate a faculty member for the Presidential Award for Excellence In Education, at least two individuals must jointly sign a letter of nomination and submit a copy of the nominee's Narrative Summary of Educator’s Contributions and current curriculum vitae. At least one of the signatories must be a member of the Baylor College of Medicine faculty.
Please note: current members of the Robertson Selection Committee cannot be nominators.
Previous recipients of the Barbara and Corbin J. Robertson, Jr. Presidential Award for Excellence In Education are not eligible for nomination.
For nominees who are deans or department chairs both nominators must be outside of any of the nominee's departments and/or schools of appointment.
Prior to preparing a nomination for the Robertson Award, please read, in detail, the eligibility criteria for nomination and the educational criteria. See Eligibility and Educational Criteria.
Nomination letters should specifically include supporting evidence demonstrating how the nominee meets the aforementioned sets of criteria. Please explain the specific educational contributions, the duration of service, special awards and recognitions, support of the schools core values and any other information that you believe supports this person's nomination for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Education. See Frequently Asked Questions.
It is important for your letter to discuss major examples of the nominee's contributions; however, please refrain from attaching additional supporting material, such as reprints or evaluations.
