About the Lab
Dr. Davis' research program focuses on identifying the mechanism by which nutrients, hormones, and growth factors regulate protein deposition in skeletal muscle during early postnatal life.
Studies performed in the Davis Lab are unique in that they bring basic research on the molecular mechanisms by which nutrients, hormones, and growth factors regulate protein synthesis closer to the translational level of both improving the bedside nutritional support of low-birth weight infants and developing new strategies to improve animal agriculture.
Primary Investigator
Dr. Davis's research interest is the regulation of protein metabolism by nutrients and hormones during early life.
