About POCUS
The Pediatric Point-Of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital, was established in 2015, and is the only pediatric POCUS fellowship in the South located in Houston in the nation’s fourth largest city. Texas Children’s is one of the nation’s premier children’s hospitals and home to the largest number of pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists in the largest medical center in the world. As a level I pediatric trauma center with an estimated annual census of 77,000 patients at the main medical center campus and an additional 44,000 patients at the West Campus, our children’s hospital provides a unique educational experience combining high pediatric patient volume with diverse patient pathologies and populations.
Our ultrasound program is a part of the education offerings in the Division of Emergency Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. The Division of Emergency Medicine at Texas Children’s and Baylor College of Medicine consists of 62 faculty including 43 pediatric emergency medicine subspecialists. The emergency department serves as an educational center for pediatric emergency medicine fellows, medical students, and residents from the pediatrics, emergency medicine, and family medicine programs of the Baylor College of Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and San Antonio Military Medical Center.

About Emergency Ultrasound Fellowships
EUS Fellowships was formed in 2008 to provide coordination and structure to Emergency Ultrasound Fellowships, a growing field of Academic Fellowships in Emergency Medicine. EUS Fellowships facilitates transparency by providing information on all Emergency Ultrasound Fellowships in the United States of America. Applicants have an opportunity to directly compare what each program offers, using information posted by each fellowship. EUS Fellowships also provides a standardized electronic application for Emergency Ultrasound Fellowships.
The goal of EUS Fellowships is to foster a community of robust, academically productive Emergency Ultrasound Fellowships open to physicians with an interest in improving their skill level in obtaining and interpreting point-of-care ultrasound. Visit the Society for Clinical Ultrasound Fellowship website for more information.
