Admission requirements: School of Medicine and PGY 1.

The Department of Dermatology accepts applications for residency positions each autumn. The application deadline is Nov. 1 of each year. Training begins the second academic year following the application deadline.

We have the following positions for the 2024 NRMP match cycle. Four A-Advanced positions (for PGY-2s starting July 1, 2025) and one R position (Reserved for Physicians Only)  which is a PGY-2 position that begins in the year of the Match 2024 (Start date July 1, 2024) and is reserved for physicians who will complete prior graduate medical education by June 30, 2024.

Please note that Baylor College of Medicine participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service program run by the American Association of Medical Colleges. Applications will not be reviewed until they are complete.

Baylor dermatology also participates exclusively in the Main Match in connection with the NRMP. Please make sure to include your NRMP number on your ERAS application.

In a typical interview cycle, we interview approximately 50 applicants. All interviews will be virtual and we participate in program signaling and coordinated interview releases. In 2023-2024, we expect to have two interview dates in December and one in January.

We have implemented a holistic approach to resident selection, in keeping with our commitment to recruit residents from diverse backgrounds.

Unfortunately, we are not currently accepting applications from international medical graduates or visa sponsorship applicants, but we hope this may be a possibility in the future.

Benefits

Content

See stipends and benefit information on the Baylor College of Medicine’s graduate medical education website. Stipend levels are at the national average, but Houston's cost of living ranks among the lowest of metropolitan areas in the United States.

Maintaining your physical and emotional wellness is a prerequisite to professional success. Our residents have access to a number of programs to support their well-being. View wellness resources.

Information about vacation and leave of absences is available on the graduate medical education website.

Attendance at American Academy of Dermatology conferences is also supported by the program. First-year residents attend half the conference and second- and third-year residents attend the full conference.
