The Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) Genetic Counseling Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC). All graduates from the Genetic Counseling Program at BCM meet the academic requirements to take the American Board of Genetic Counselors (ABGC) national certification exam. Eligibility to sit for the ABGC certification exam is a requirement for all states that require licensure to practice in those states. The most up to date and comprehensive list of states that require licensure is available through the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) at https://www.nsgc.org/p/cm/ld/fid=19.
