Dr. Jenalee Coster, thoracic surgery resident (General Thoracic Surgery track) in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery, has received a Thoracic Surgical Robotics Fellowship from the American Association for Thoracic Surgery Foundation. Dr. Coster's mentor during her residency program is Dr. Shawn Groth, associate professor of surgery, associate program director for the Thoracic Surgery Residency Program (General Thoracic Surgery track) and director of Esophageal Services at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center.

The AATS Foundation Thoracic Surgical Robotics Fellowship provides an advanced educational experience for North American general thoracic awardees and their attending surgeons to spend a two-day period at Intuitive Surgical's Atlanta, GA or Sunnyvale, CA facility to experience an advanced training course on Intuitive Surgical's da Vinci System.
