Dr. Rodrigo Zea Vera, PGY-3 general surgery resident, has been accepted into the American Association for Thoracic Surgery Member for a Day Program. This program takes place during the virtual AATS 101st Annual Meeting, and is aimed at letting medical students, early career surgeons, and physician scientists network, build relationships, and offer insight into the cardiothoracic surgical community. 
 
Dr. Zea Vera graduated from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Peru in 2015. His faculty mentors are Dr. Todd K. Rosengart, professor of surgery and chair of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery, Dr. Ravi K. Ghanta, associate professor and chief of cardiac surgery at Ben Taub Hospital, and Dr. Ourania Preventza, professor of surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
