Dr. Alejandro Zulbaran, research associate with the Interdisciplinary Consortium on Advanced Motion Performance (iCAMP) at Baylor College of Medicine, received the best poster presentation award (2nd place) at the 2020 Diabetic Foot Conference (DFCon) for his work titled, "Effectiveness of daily home electrical stimulation as an adjunctive therapy to accelerate wound healing in people with diabetic foot ulcer - a double blinded randomized control trial." Co-authors on the poster included Dr. Catherine Park, postdoc fellow, Dr. Brian Lepow, assistant professor, and Dr. Bijan Najafi, professor, all from the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy.

As stated on their website, DFCon is the "premier international, interdisciplinary diabetic foot conference in North America." The meeting involves, "didactic talks, panel discussions, Q&A sessions, specialty symposia and workshops delve into diagnostic and interventional strategies for diabetic foot ulcers and amputation prevention."
