Global Surgery Track Residents Youmna Sherif, M.D.; Sukriti Bansal, M.D.; and Lubna Khan, M.D. received second place in the 2022 History of Surgery Poster Competition for their poster “The Evolution of Ethical Dilemmas in Global Surgery - The Transition from Mission Trips to Capacity Building and the Challenges of Autonomy, Itinerant Surgery, and Neocolonialism.”  Rachel W. Davis, M.D., and Todd Rosengart, M.D., were the faculty mentors for this research.

The American College of Surgeons History of Surgery Poster Competition features posters examining the impact of historical events on the development of the modern surgeon. Out of 200 proposals, 20 were accepted for in-person presentation and judging.
