The American Transplant Congress is an international, joint annual meeting of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) and the American Society of Transplantation (AST).

This highly anticipated event provides a forum for exchange of new scientific and clinical information relevant to solid organ and tissue transplantation. This year’s meeting, (June 1-5 in Boston, Maine), drew over 4,000 attendees, including transplant physicians, scientists, nurses, organ procurement personnel, pharmacists, allied health professionals and other transplant professionals.

We are so proud that Baylor College of Medicine's transplant programs were well-represented at the Congress. Twelve abstracts from our faculty were presented, and Dr. John Goss, professor of surgery and chief of the Division of Abdominal Transplantation in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery, moderated two sessions on liver transplantation. Our group also participated in the Normothermic Machine Perfusion Investigators Meeting.
