Professional Statement
My long-term goal as a member of the KLemon lab is to identify microbe-microbe interactions within the human nasal microbiota that promote health. My specific research project is to create a chemically defined minimal media for nasal bacterial species, also known as nCDM. With a defined medium, I will investigate how Corynebacterium species common members of the human nasal microbiota, colonize nasal epithelium and interacts with other bacteria in the nasal microbiota to promote health.
