Professional Statement
Dr. Ali Asghar-Ali’s educational scholarship and clinical practice focus in two areas: geriatric psychiatry and the practice of culturally attuned psychiatric. Dr. Asghar-Ali is the current geriatric psychiatry fellowship director and coordinates the geriatric psychiatry seminar series for the general psychiatry residents. At the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center he is responsible for the delivery of electroconvulsive therapy. In terms of cultural psychiatry, Dr. Asghar-Ali presents locally and nationally on ways in which trainees and practitioners can work towards improving their cultural attunement to best serve their patients.Websites
