Professional Statement
Dr. Ayse Leyla Mindikoglu is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology with more than 18 years of experience in academic clinical practice. She is a clinician, researcher, and educator.Dr. Mindikoglu's current research studies investigate the effect of dawn-to-dusk dry fasting on human metabolism, proteome and aging.
Dr. Mindikoglu's previous research studies were focused on renal dysfunction and acute kidney injury in cirrhosis and the development of new biomarkers of glomerular filtration rate in cirrhosis. Supported by the NIH/NIDDK K23 award between 2010 and 2015 and Roderick D. MacDonald Research Award/Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center between 2017, Dr. Mindikoglu conducted several clinical studies to understand critical concepts of altered renal hemodynamics in cirrhosis and develop metabolomic biomarkers of cirrhosis.
