Professional Statement
Dr. George Cholankeril is an assistant professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Cholankeril is responsible for the care of liver transplant patients at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center. In addition to overseeing pre- and post-transplant end-stage liver disease patients, he is responsible for managing their long-term care and providing education before and after their surgical procedure. His extensive training includes internal medicine residency at Boston University, transplant hepatology fellowship at University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, and gastroenterology fellowship at Stanford University. Dr. Cholankeril is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease. Dr. Cholankeril’s clinical research interests include liver cancer, fatty liver disease and liver transplant outcomes.Websites
