Professional Statement
I am committed to providing family-centered and evidence-based care for children with neurodevelopmental challenges. I enjoy discovering each child’s unique strengths while also aiding the patient and family in navigating any challenges or uncertainty that may accompany a neurodevelopmental diagnosis. Along with providing diagnostic evaluations and ongoing care if needed, I am additionally invested in research, seeking to broaden our understanding of these diagnoses in order to best care for patients. My research interest is in autism spectrum disorder, and specifically I seek to better understand the heterogeneity seen in children with autism. I do this through both clinical and translational projects. I am interested in determining if specific patient characteristics or symptoms cluster together to define subgroups within the broader autism spectrum, and if so, whether those subgroups might aid in our understanding of causes or inform best treatments. I also have in interest in translational collaboration with scientists in the fields of genetics and neurology as we seek to better understand the etiology of autism spectrum disorders.
