Dr. Bernard is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in the assessment and treatment of serious mental illness (SMI), including psychotic disorders and bipolar disorder. He is an Associate Professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He is board certified in SMI psychology, and is the creator and program coordinator of the Bipolar and Schizophrenia Treatment (BeST) Clinic at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX.
