Macromolecular X-Ray Crystallography Core Instrumentation & Technology

Master
Content

At the heart of the Macromolecular X-ray Crystallography ATC is the “Ultimate Home Lab” from Rigaku Americas, which was configured to provide the highest possible usable flux currently available in a home laboratory X-ray source.

As a one-stop facility for obtaining high-resolution structures of macromolecules (protein and nucleic acid) we are equipped with a mosquito crystallization robot and Formulatrix Rock Imager 2 benchtop system which can be programmed to accommodate a variety of tray formats.

The purpose of the Macromolecular X-ray Crystallography ATC is to provide access to this advanced technology and to assist researchers to find a structure solution of their macromolecule of interest. In addition, X-ray crystallography provides an avenue for rationale structure-based drug design by determining the structure of protein/enzyme-inhibitor complexes.
