The PDX Core offers a variety of tissue types for each PDX model. Please contact us for any questions you may have related to the services, training, or experimental study design.
Breeder Mice: Excess male mice from the Core’s SCID/Bg breeding colony are available for purchase.
Fresh Tissue for Assays: Fresh tissue for end-point in vitro assays.
FFPE Unstained Slides: Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue of a single PDX model for IHC or IF staining.
PDX Generation: Transplantation of human tissue to generate a PDX model.
PDX Study Request: The PDX core will perform the requested preclinical study for an investigator. Prior approval from Core Director is required.
PDX Transplant Request: Transplantation of PDX tissue into a cohort of mice which will then be transferred to the requesting lab.
Snap Frozen Tissue: Snap frozen PDX tissue for molecular assays.
Tissue for PDX Propagation: Viably frozen or fresh tissue for re-generation of a PDX model.
TMA Unstained Slides: Tissue microarray of the BCM breast cancer model collection for IHC or IF staining.
Consultation/Training: Technical assistance that applies to training/guidance on various animal techniques, in-depth study design assistance, etc.
Bioinformatics Analysis: Assistance with PDX upstream multi-omics processing and data management.
IVIS Lumina X5 Instruments: Bioluminescence/Fluorescence and/or X-ray imaging of rodents in either an immunodeficient environment or a general housing area. Experiments requiring immunodeficient housing must be approved by the Core Director. High-throughput, smart loading trays are available on both systems allowing the imaging of five mice while five additional mice are staged.
Vega Ultrasound Instrument: Hands-free, high-throughput whole mouse imaging for visualizing and measuring masses, quantifying tissue stiffness, or visualization of microvasculature. This instrument is housed in an immunodeficient housing area and use must be approved by the Core Director.
Organoids developed from PDX models are now available from validated PDX models provided by the PDX core. See the Advanced Cell Engineering and 3D Models Core page for details and requests.
