About the Center
The Clinical Research Center (CRC) is the cornerstone for clinical research within the Baylor College of Medicine. The CRC supports the full spectrum of patient-oriented research to Baylor investigators.
Facilities
The Clinical Research Center is located in the Texas Medical Center with inpatient and outpatient facilities. The facility includes:
• Dedicated 24/7 inpatient rooms with telemetry
• Outpatient exam rooms
• Specimen Processing Laboratory
• Investigational pharmacy
• Access to radiology and pathology
• Storage area
• Conference Room
• Reception and Waiting Areas
Services
The CRC is staffed by dedicated acute care nurses and support staff specially trained to perform complex research studies. CRC nurses are crossed trained on all CRC studies.
• Nursing Examination and Monitoring
• Central/peripheral line access and site care
• Investigational Drug Administration
• Specimen Collection/Processing
• Creation of nursing orders and flowsheet
• Detailed feasibility process
• Subject Teaching
Locations
CRC provides research support across four primary locations, determined by patient population, acuity levels and logistical considerations. Our nursing team extends their support to research activities conducted at the investigator's practice location.
