About the Program
The two-year, ACGME-accredited Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing Fellowship is sponsored by Baylor College of Medicine.
The goal of this training program is to train excellent, scholarly, clinical cardiac electrophysiologists with vast and diverse experience in clinical and interventional electrophysiology. We train leaders in the field of CCEP who will function as practitioners, teachers and researchers.
The program is based at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center/Texas Heart Institute. Fellows have the opportunity to rotate through the Michael E. DeBakey Veteran Affairs Medical Center.
Curriculum
The CCEP fellows evaluate elective cases in the outpatient setting of The Texas Heart Institute outpatient clinic, and they also evaluate inpatient consults or admissions at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. These fellows then perform the electrophysiology study under direct and constant supervision, discussing treatment, and providing further care and management to the patient cases.
Fellows attend several regularly scheduled conferences and have a number of opportunities to conduct research, including clinical trials and device development, among THI’s multiple research laboratories. Fellows also have the opportunity to participate as reviewers for The Texas Heart Institute Journal.
