Content

The fellowship is scheduled in 13 blocks – utilizing a 28 day block. There are 11 clinical rotations, one elective rotation and one rotation of three weeks of vacation and an additional week to complete the elective.

EEG = Electroencephalogram; EMG = Electromyogram; EMU = Epilepsy Monitoring Unit; IOM = Intraoperative Monitoring.

 

Content

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center: This is an inpatient facility for adults. Fellows will train in the following; inpatient services participating in epilepsy consultations; epilepsy monitoring unit; neurophysiology laboratory, including electroencephalography.

Texas Children’s Hospital: This serves as both an inpatient and outpatient facility. Fellows will train in the outpatient clinics in the diagnosis and management of epilepsy and seizures. In the inpatient setting, fellows will train in the following: inpatient services participating in epilepsy consultations; epilepsy monitoring unit; neurophysiology laboratory including electroencephalography.

Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center: This serves as an inpatient facility. Fellows will train in the epilepsy monitoring unit and will participate in inpatient epilepsy consultations. This experience provides additional population diversity to the training experience.

Baylor Comprehensive Epilepsy Center | BSLMC, McNair Campus: This is an outpatient facility for adults. Fellows will train in the diagnosis and management of adult patients with epilepsy and seizures.

CHI St Luke’s Health - The Woodlands Hospital: This is an inpatient facility for adults. Fellows will train in the following; inpatient services participating in epilepsy consultations; epilepsy monitoring unit; neurophysiology laboratory, including electroencephalography. Fellows will read EEGs remotely during this rotation.

Harris Health System - Ben Taub Hospital: This is an inpatient facility for adults. Fellows will train in the following; inpatient services participating in epilepsy consultations; epilepsy monitoring unit; neurophysiology laboratory, including electroencephalography. Fellows will read EEGs remotely during this rotation.

EMG/Neuromuscular Clinic: Fellows will train in the following; inpatient/outpatient services to include experiences in: NCS, EMG, MUP analysis, ALS clinics and neuromuscular diseases.
