  • July 3, 8 a.m. CST: Applicants may begin submitting applications in ERAS
  • July 17, 8 a.m. CST: ERAS released applications to programs


NRMP Addiction Psychiatry Dates

Please note: Addiction Psychiatry is part of the “Medicine and Pediatric Specialties Match” and NOT the “Psychiatry Fellowship Match”

  • Aug. 21, 11 a.m. CST: Match opens
  • Sept. 25, 11 a.m. CST: Ranking opens
  • Nov. 6, 10:59 p.m. CST: Quota change deadline
  • Nov. 20, 8 p.m. CST:  Rank order Lister Certification Deadline
  • Dec. 4, 11 a.m. CST: Match Day

Admission Requirements

Admission requirements include:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • One-page personal statement
  • Three letters of recommendation (including letter from current program director)
  • Dean’s letter from medical school
  • Official transcript from medical school
  • Copy of medical school diploma
  • Copies of USMLE scores (1, 2 and 3)
  • Valid ECFMG certificate, if graduated from medical school outside of the United States
  • Be a resident completing general psychiatry residency (verification provided upon completion), or certificate of completion for general psychiatry residency
  • Be eligible for a Texas license upon completion of residency

After all applications have been received, candidates may be eligible to interview with the program faculty and receive a tour within the affiliated clinics/hospitals.
