Successful teams, project management, and influence are closely related in the context of leadership in organizations. By effectively managing teams and leveraging influence, leaders can ensure that current and planned efforts and initiatives are executed well with respect to time, budget, quality, and planned outcomes.
The 6-session Leading Successful Teams engages learners in identifying personal leadership strengths and opportunities for growth in key management and leadership competencies, including strategies related to effective team performance through communication and managing processes that create change in an organizational context.
Faculty who complete the program will:
- Identify personal leadership competencies and opportunities for growth; apply strategies related to emotional intelligence, team effectiveness, organizational awareness, adaptability, and communication.
- Acting within a team and leading the development and delivery of programs and efforts related to leading change or quality improvement.
- Build relationships with peers at various career stages across mission areas, while gaining an appreciation of diverse perspectives and pathways.
Fall 2023 Program
The program will span four sessions on the following dates:

Requirements for Participants
- Learners must attend 3 of the 4 sessions to receive a certificate of completion.
- Course time will be used to facilitate activities and provide time for reflection. There will be 30-60 minutes of individually assigned learning activities outside of class time that learners will be expected to complete.
- To support the assessment of the program, learners agree to participate in the evaluation component of the program.

Program capacity is limited to 24 participants, faculty interested in the program are encouraged to submit an application by Oct. 13, 2023. Decisions on applicants will be communicated no later than Oct. 18, 2023.
