Baylor College of Medicine has determined that completion of the Doctor of Nursing Practice – Nurse Anesthesia prepares graduates to apply for certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), and subsequently apply for state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in any of the 50 states and in any U.S. protectorate.
It is each individual’s responsibility to understand, evaluate, and comply with all requirements relating to national certification exams and state licensure requirements for the state in which he or she intends to practice as requirements vary widely. For questions regarding licensure, please contact Rachel C. Davis, DNP, CRNA, CHSE.
