Deeksha Bidare, second-year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine, has been awarded the Diversity Medical Student Travel Scholarship from the Society for Vascular Surgery. This will give her the opportunity to attend the upcoming Vascular Annual Meeting taking place in San Diego. As a recipient, she will receive a one-on-one mentor to work with her throughout the following year. During the annual meeting, she will be given the opportunity to network with leaders to learn about the latest research and treatment within vascular disease.

Deeksha has proven to be an accomplished medical student who has presented research findings at The American Heart Association’s Annual Session, the Association for Academic Surgery, and at the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery’s Research Symposium. Her faculty mentors are Drs. Neal Barshes, Natasha Hansraj, Cary Hsu and Eric Silberfein.
