Professional Statement
Elizabeth Alore, M.D., as an assistant professor in the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. Graduating with honors, Dr. Alore received her dual bachelor’s degrees in microbiology and psychology from The Ohio State University. She then completed a master’s in public health in epidemiology from the University of Texas Health Science Center and attended medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed an internship and residency in general surgery followed by a fellowship in surgical critical care—all here at the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.Dr. Alore is dedicated to research: she has published 10 papers, given 15 oral presentations and presented eight abstracts. Her most recent article, “Outcomes After Extracorporeal Life Support Cannulation in Pediatric Patients with Trisomy 13 and Trisomy 18,” was published in the Journal of Surgical Research. She was also part of the team that developed the MasSpec Pen, an automated and biocompatible handheld mass spectrometry device for rapid and non-destructive diagnosis of human tissues including benign versus malignant disease.
