Data and Safety Monitoring

Data and safety monitoring serves to ensure patient safety and quality research data. The Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center patient safety officer can assist investigators with developing a data and safety monitoring plan for their protocols.
The center has a standing Data Review Committee that can provide DSM for studies that do not need an independent DSMB, such as non-randomized early phase studies.
When a study requires an independent Data and Safety Monitoring Board, the patient safety officer can assist the PI with constituting and coordinating the DSMB.
