The Center for Research in Obesity and Nutrition, at Baylor College of Medicine, was established to improve the quality and multidisciplinary nature of research in obesity and nutritional sciences by providing shared access to specialized services, resources, and expertise in Texas and the greater southwest region of the United States.
The following Biomedical Research Cores are available to center users:
- Cellular and Molecular Metabolism Core: Provides a broad range of cell-based and animal-based phenotyping studies.
- Human Phenotyping Core: Will enhance and expand research capabilities in clinical and translation studies related to nutritional interventions.
- Neuroendocrine Core: Provides consolidated facilities to allow users to manipulate genes, neurons and neural circuits in rodent brains and to characterize neuroendocrine-related phenotypes.
